The mesh is 0.9mm 304 structural grade stainless steel. Stainless is not the same as rust-proof. Salt air near the coast marks any metal in time, which is exactly why the wash matters. Rinse them with the kit we give you, every six months for most Brisbane homes and more often near the coast. They stay right. That wash is also what keeps the warranty alive, so it is written into the schedule you get with it.

You look through it the way you look through a flyscreen. From the street it reads darker, which is part of why it works. Crimsafe's mesh blocks up to 53% of solar heat gain and 62% of UV rays, which most people count as a win in a Brisbane summer.

No. That is the whole reason people put it on. The mesh is open. What stops at the door is the mosquitoes and anyone having a go at the back of the house.

Crimsafe is tested to the Australian Standards for security screens, AS 5039 and AS 5041, which cover knife shear, jemmy and impact. Crimsafe Regular can withstand up to 550 Joules of impact. It is the only mesh security screen door in Australia to pass the European RC2 Test.

Yes. Dogs and cats cannot get through the mesh. It is one of the main reasons people with an indoor cat put it on.

No bars, no grilles. From the street it reads as a dark screen and most people never notice it is there. It comes in a powder-coated colour range, so ask at the measure which colours suit your frames.

That is a fitting problem, not a Crimsafe problem. A screen that whistles was not made to the opening. Ours are measured one at a time and made here. If anything is not sitting true on install day we remake it, which is the guarantee further up this page.

Start wherever you like. Plenty of people do the front and back doors first. Worth knowing: the whole-house quote is where the half-price door kicks in, so ask for both numbers on the day and decide later.

No. We do not quote on the spot, deliberately. A number made up on your kitchen bench on a job this size is a guess. You deserve better than a guess. The measurer measures. The quote comes to you in writing inside 72 hours. Nobody asks you to sign on the day.

The number on the quote is the installed number. It is held for 60 days.

Six to eight weeks from the day your deposit lands. We quote eight, because eight is the one we can keep. Christmas runs longer. Ask at the measure and we will tell you where the factory is sitting that week.

Most are not, especially in the older homes. That is what the measure is for. Every opening gets measured on its own and made to match.

10% deposit to get started. 30% after the final check measure, before we make anything. 60% on completion. You do not pay that last 60% until you have walked every opening with the installer.

Guardian Screens & Shutters offers a 1 year workmanship warranty, which covers the niggly things that can turn up months after everything was working fine, like house movement or a lock going sticky. Crimsafe hardware such as rollers and locks is covered for 12 months from installation. It is honoured by us, the people who made it and fitted it. Crimsafe's own product warranty sits on top of ours.

No. The warranty is logged with you, our client, not with the property.

A warranty claim needs the screens to have been cleaned. For most Brisbane homes that is every six months. Closer to the water it is more often. That is why the cleaning kit turns up on install day.

Ask your insurer. Plenty of them factor home security into a premium. We are not going to promise you a number we do not control.
